Resources Manager

Overview

A Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the allocation, utilization, and management of both human and physical resources within an organization. They ensure that resources are used efficiently to meet business objectives while optimizing costs and productivity.

 

Responsible For

  • Managing and allocating resources (personnel, equipment, and materials) to ensure project and operational success.
  • Coordinating with department heads and teams to assess resource needs and availability.
  • Developing and implementing resource management strategies to optimize efficiency.
  • Monitoring resource usage to avoid overutilization or underutilization and adjusting plans as needed.
  • Preparing resource forecasts and reports to assist in decision-making.
  • Assisting in budget preparation and tracking resource-related costs.
  • Managing vendor relationships and ensuring timely procurement of materials or services.
  • Supporting HR in managing employee workloads and performance, ensuring proper staffing levels.
  • Overseeing training and development programs to ensure the right skills are available within the workforce.

Specific Skills

Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of resource management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Resource Guru, or similar platforms). Ability to create and manage resource allocation schedules. Familiarity with budget tracking and cost management. Experience with workforce planning and optimization. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting for resource usage. Interpersonal Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication and negotiation skills for dealing with vendors and internal teams. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Effective conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in: Business Administration Human Resources Operations Management Supply Chain Management Preferred: Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field. Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Resource Management.
